Embroidered Brows & Permed Lashes at Browtisan by Coco!

I was back at Browtisan by Coco to do my brows and get my natural lashes permed. As a very busy working adult, I really don’t have the luxury of time to spend more than 10minutes on my an entire face in the mornings. As such, these beauty sessions were something that I’d always wanted to go for. Trust me, a good pair of brows and a set of permed fluttery lashes would save you so much trouble making up early in the morning.

Numbing cream on for 30 minutes. Excited to reshape my brows :) Eyebrow embroidery usually lasts 6 months or so, before touch ups are needed. I just wanted to have straighter brows as my natural set of brows are more arched. Coco was skilled enough to increase the height of my brows at the first third portion and straighten the arch at the second third portion. I trust her skills as I’ve had all my brows and lashes done by her and have been a satisfied happy girl after every session. Her schedule is pretty packed already, so do call Browtisan up for an appointment asap if you’re interested :)

Coco and myself. The brows will be a lot darker on the first day and will gradually fade. I don’t have any makeup on in this photo so you can see the real effect of having a set of groomed brows on a bare face. :) Well…yeah, that’s how I look like without makeup :)

A set of cling-wrap like plasters will be given, in addition to a vial of a gel to help heal the little incision wounds. It sounds scary but really, the slight tingle fades in just 24 hours. After that you won’t even feel a thing until you apply the wound repair gel. I love that gel, works amazingly well on my skin!

Changed my hair colour to a darker shade to match my brows ^^ Yup, those are my natural lashes after perming done at Browtisan! No mascara needed! I do have long lashes but they point straight down and are very resistant to curl whenever I use my eyelash curler. I no longer need to spend time curling my lashes and smearing my eyeliner all over my lids in the process of doing so! I love that I get to wake up to a set of brows that frames my face well. These brows are just as they are, with nothing filled in. The effect is very natural and soft, especially after Day 3.

These are my lashes and brows on Day 4 :) I absolutely love them! ^^ Visit Browtisan today to book your appointment with them! They’re the best beauty place to go to for lashes and brows. I’ve been to so many and paid hundreds, yet nothing comes close to theirs. :)

My Review:

This is my go-to everyday foundation as it’s an almost full coverage foundation that does”t feel cake on the skin and neither does it dry my skin out. I used to be very wary of cream foundations because they’d always break me out and slide off my face by the end of the day. This one by Cyber Colours is an outstanding product that delivers what it promises to do – high coverage, provides skincare benefits and regulates sebum production. I only need to do one touch up every 6-8 hours and I rarely need to use any concealer except for the area underneath my eyes. A must-buy if you’re interested in trying something from this range!

My Review:

The liquid foundation has a very smooth consistency to it that gives light to medium coverage, which are great for days when I just don’t want to wear a whole lot of makeup. It’s slightly more yellow toned than the cream foundation and doesn’t hold up as well as the cream foundation. I don’t find myself reaching for this one on weekdays as I need a foundation that is long wearing and high coverage to help save me some time during the morning rush. However, if I were in a very cold climate and in need for a semi dewy foundation with medium coverage, this liquid foundation will definitely be one of my top choices :)

RP: $49.90

Silky smooth, extremely fine and comfortable. Its soft-focus and skin-perfecting formula diffuses light and gives skin a flawless finish. Complexion glows with natural radiance, appears fresh and luminous all day long.

Direction for Use: After applying Black Label Essence UV Liquid Foundation or Cream Foundation, use a makeup puff or brush to apply the powder lightly onto face for long-lasting makeup.

Available in 2 shades:

01 Lucent
02 Natural

My Review:

I was surprised that this loose powder actually looks and feels more matte that if the pressed powder version were to be dusted on my face! The powder is very finely milled and feels silky soft on the skin. Doesn’t settle into fine lines but does dry out the skin a little if you cake on too much, as per any kind of loose powder with a tiny bit of coverage. I like to use this on my T-zone to prolong the wear of my makeup :)

This is how my skin looks like after using the liquid foundation and loose powder :) No concealer used except for my underage areas. I totally need more sleep to get rid of those dark eye circles :D

RP: $55.90

A skin-loving textured compact combines Complex Powder and Moisturizing Powder that builds up a moisturizing film on your skin and controls excess sebum. Micro Powder reflects light and brings radiance to dull, uneven-toned and lifeless skin. Dark eye circles, wrinkles and pores are diminished.

Direction for use: For touch-up, gently dab sponge onto face to remove excess sebum, then apply the foundation by sponge onto skin, pressing lightly.

Available in 3 shades:

01 Ivory
02 Natural
03 Beige

My Review:

This is my favourite powder to use for touch ups! It’s very similar to what Laura Mercier has, except with higher coverage. It can still get cakey if you pile layers and layers on, but with a large powder brush and a light dusting, this product makes the skin look velvety smooth. The compact comes with a handy separation flap to place the powder sponge and overall, the entire packaging feels sturdy to the touch.

REVIEW: Eyelash Extensions done At Browtisan by Coco!

I dropped by Browtisan by Coco to get my eyelash extensions done last week! It’s located at Delfi Orchard, right along where Shaw is along Orchard Road :) Very accessible and convenient for working adults! :) You may check out their Facebook page here :)

These are my lashes before the lash extensions~ I do have long lashes but as with many asian girls alike, I have the same issues with my lashes – lack of volume and fullness of the lashes. So, I opted for 300-320 lashes for the extensions, which would give me a pair of fluttery full lashes that increase in length from the inner corners of the lash line to the outer corners.

They look natural right? :) These are my lashes after 8 days. I’m not the most meticulous person when it comes to eyelash extension after care, so having a very experienced beauty technician was necessary. I was attended to by Coco, the owner of Browtisan, herself and I’ve never loved the look of my lashes more! It’s soft to the touch yet doesn’t fall off as rapidly as with other eyelash extensions that I’ve tried before. The glue didn’t make my eyes itch or red at all! Coco uses a special pair of surgeon eyewear to magnify her span of vision of her clients’ lashes. I’ve never had anyone use such  tool while doing eyelash extension for me, and was glad that she did, because the results at the end were outstanding. My natural lashes were curled first prior to the lash attachment process and it certainly made a difference to the curl and overall neatness of the lash extensions. Browtisan is my favourite eyelash extension salon EVER. I’m planning on going back consistently for their services since having these really natural yet enhancing eyelashes on made my dressing up time in the morning a whole lot shorter. A big plus for the busy ladies out there!

I don’t have any eye makeup in this photo :) I love how the lash extensions create an illusion of an eyeliner across the upper waterline. Makeup always takes less than 5 mins each day and I wake up feeling more put together than just my usual self. Their prices are reasonable for the quality of service and lash extensions that you’ll be getting :)

Call them up for an appointment today! They’re always almost fully booked!

REVIEW: Laneige Jet Curling Mascara & Gel Liquid Liner in Black, Brown

I achieved this look using all 3 products shown below :) My lashes stayed perfectly curled the ENTIRE day and just a little flaking happened when I had accidentally rubbed my eyes. This mascara requires an oil based makeup remover for thorough removal and is so too, for the gel liquid liner.

IMG_1123My own lashes look like falsies, don’t they?:) This is after just 2 coats of mascara! I’m very impressed. It’s my go-to mascara for everyday makeup!

The spikes at the tip of the rubber brush is excellent, for it not only separates the tiniest lashes but also adds instant volume when added on top of the first even coat of mascara across the lashes. The formula is impressive too, not too wet but not to crunchy dry either. Just perfect lashes all day. THUMBS UP!

I wished that the brush tip of this gel liquid liner was thinner as I personally enjoy much thinner brush tips for eye lining. However, for beautiful people out there who can rock that gorgeous flicked eyeliner look, this eyeliner is definitely a dupe of the Urban Decay’s Liquid Eyeliners in terms of intensity and lasting power. However, It doesn’t dry as fast as many other gel liquid liners out there, so do give it some time to set if you do embark upon the dramatic eye lining eye makeup with this product. While the drawback is its dry down time, its lasting power on the lids is amazing! Very smudge resistant and intense in colour payoff once it’s fully dried!

Definitely check the Laneige Jet Curling mascara out if you’re up for some long lasting dramatic lashes :)

REVIEWS: Sailormoon Miracle Romance Eyeliners & Versailles Eyeliners

Here’s the number 1 top selling and highly raved Lady Oscar Liquid Eyeliner Pen in Black. This is really intense and black, the point precision is really amazing. It’s even blacker and smoother than Heroine’s black eyeliner pen, IMHO. If you love budge-proof eyeliner looks form Japan, you HAVE to get this! Double champion winnings on @Cosme, a Japanese cosmetic award voted by users online.

Here I have the Versailles Lady Oscar black waterproof pen, brown waterproof pen as well as the gel liner. All 3 are form the same series.

From bottom to top – Versailles Lady Oscar black waterproof pen, brown waterproof pen as well as the gel liner!

See how just a wriggle of the brush can be seen so vividly on the skin? The colour is INTENSE OMGGGG!

The much awaited Sailormoon Miracle Romance Eyeliners! The green comes with the black eyeliner in one package, and the gold comes with the brown eyeliner in one package. The red and blue ones are sold separately.

The peach coloured one is a highlighting pencil in shimmery white, meant to be used on the lower lash line of lower waterline to brighten the eyes for that anima kawaii look that all Sailormoon girls have :)

Here’re the swatches! The green one was the most disappointing. The green swatch took me over 5 swipes to achieve that opacity. The black liner that comes with it in the package is really good though. The brown eyeliner isn’t as intense as the Versailles Lady Oscar eyeliner in brown, but is great for days when I want my eye lining eye makeup to look as natural as possible. The best one to definitely check out and buy is the blue one. All the multi-coloured liners here set to a almost budge-proof form and can be easily washed off with warm water. The blue one is the most intense in terms of colour payoff. The red one really doesn’t stand out for me as it looks more like a rusty red on my lash line. The orange one is great for the lower lash line for that pop of colour without looking odd, so it’s a much safer colour to pick. Plus, it comes with a brown eyeliner!

Here’re some eye makeup looks that I came up with using the different eyeliners mentioned in this post :) these were taken 5 hours into wearing the products on my lash line! ^^ The eyeliners stayed in pristine condition throughout the day and I’m really impressed. I would still choose the Versailles Lady Oscar eyeliner range over the Sailormoon Miracle Romance range since the quality and colour pigmentation are of much higher quality.

If you like coloured eyeliners, do give the Blue Sailormoon Miracle Romance eyeliner a go! It’s one of the best blue sparkly eyeliners that I have tried so far :) You won’t be disappointed.

Overall, these two eyeliner product ranges are impressive for what they’re priced at. They’re available at Watsons outlets :) I believe that the Watsons Member Sales held pretty frequently will make these buys an even better deal for you. I’ll definitely repurchase the Versailles Lady Oscar eyeliner products for sure!
